So like anyone wanna give me the 411 (oh my gosh, how 1999 of me) on the dorms at ORU? Are all the dorms open to freshmen, are there some that are only for certain whatevers? I wanna get my housing contract in ASAP, and I will receive it soon. So I dunno, what are the bathrooms like, aren't there some dormrooms with bathrooms in them?

**must aquire information**

EDIT: *deleted* (Sorry just amusing myself there. Please excuse me while I stop drinking coffee, NOW.)

Mucho Gracias.

(Oh and I guess wearing chains on your jeans at ORU at all is a most likely no-no? ha.)

Hello,
All dorms are open to freshmen. Bathrooms are communal except for the Gabrielle dorm (but you have to pay more) and I believe that's only on the first n second floors. Claudius has tiny rooms; braxton has long, rectangle-shaped spacious rooms; susie and frances have weird-shaped but relatively good-sized rooms (Susie is better than Frances in my opinion if you're trying to decide between the Towers).

Erm, jeans are not allowed unless after 4 pm and on spirit days. I don't see why chains are not allowed, but don't quote me on that.

Hey I am a freshmen this year living in EMR. I am loving it. Claudius is definately the way to go for freshmen. Its pretty crazy but really alot of fun. Claudius is... happenin' is really cool. But you can always change rooms or dorms, so dont be afriad to step out on a limb. Well i hope you time at ORU is great.

God bless,
-josh

EMR is the friggin' ghetto. I loved it there. I was up on Dominion (during the crazy years) and it was a lot of fun.

Forget Towers, EMR all the way!

CLAUDIUS!!!!
if you're into loud nights and fun times, being a claudius girl is the way to go.

and if you're a boy just remember..."straight halls, straight men..."
-just kidding...kinda-
but yeah according to a good guy friend of mine, "EMR boys are the ones you let take you out. they are the fun ones. towers boys are the type you marry, the ones you settle down with when yuo're 30"

Towers certainly has a very different feel to it, but unlike many of those who have posted already, I was a Towers girl all the way. Things are a little quieter over there, so if you need to study you can. Also, Towers girls have a tendancy to be out right up until curfew, so it's hard to find someone to hang out with until then. The rooms are quite a bit larger (as far as dorm rooms go, which is still pretty small), and I always had a lot of stuff, so that was important. Susie is cool because you have an entire sliding glass door instead of just a little window (but you can't go out on the balcony, so why have a door, right?). Gabrielle was built after I graduated, but we used to call Braxton "no man's land." (Because there isn't really a corresponding men's dorm, they have to share brother wings, which never really works the same.

I did live in Claudius one year, and it might have been fun if I'd still been a freshman and had plenty of free time and could stay up till all hours of the night. Unfortunately, I was doing my student teaching and had to sleep with ear plugs every night for a whole semester.

DEFINITELY, without a doubt, Claudius or EMR is the way to go, especially for a freshman.

They are much more social dorms so you'll get to know WAY more people and have a great community experience there. Wing life is awesome... It's a real highlight of ORU, and the wings tend to be more tightly knit in EMR/Claudy.

I lived in EMR all four years and loved every second.

And yes it's true, the halls of EMR are straight, and so are the guys:)
